Buenos Dias! The Bureau of Latin American Tourism is gearing up for a new and fresh look to boost tourism. As a member of one of the best public relations firms in Latin America, your company has been awarded the contract for creating this product. Your assignment is to design a dynamic travel brochure that showcases your country as one of the most sought after vacation areas in the world!
TASK You have been assigned a country by the Tourism Bureau because of your previous work. You must now become an expert on this country to complete your new assignment. You will need to gather enough information to create a brochure to attract tourism. Think about all of the special interests and needs that have to be included in a successful brochure. You will have to use your imagination and creativity to sell your country as a world class vacation spot.
PROCESS
For your country assignment, create a colorful, informative and dazzling brochure that will appeal to a variety of people which includes: 1. Country overview and history. This should include a brief summary about the history of the country and why it would appeal to tourist. 2. Climate and weather conditions for various times of the year. 3. Arts & Culture from museums to theaters to Science and Nature 4. Food from fancy restaurants to food stalls on the street - what kind of native foods would tourist be eating 6. Recreation - what can tourist do to have fun, parks, beaches, sailing, scuba, etc. 7. Historic Sites 8. Map showing sites to visit 9. Shopping (best buys for this country) 10. Insider Travel Tips - monetary systems, custom fees 11. Travel Advisory - travel warnings such as shots required, better times to visit 12. Pictures/Graphics 13. Remember to cite your sources - you may include them in the brochure or on a separate word document. You will create you brochure using Microsoft Publisher. You may choose any brochure template style that appeals to you. You are not limited to only one page. As a matter of fact, it would be difficult to put all this information on one page.

There are many good sites on the Internet to help you gather the information that you need. Click on the appropriate link and it will take you to those helpful sites. You are not limited to using only these sites. However, visiting inappropriate websites will result in a zero for this project and loss of computer privileges for my class. Gather enough information to create an appealing brochure for the Bureau of Latin American Tourism. Show them why your public relations firm is an award winning company. 1. Make your brochure eye catching as well as informative. 2. Keep information user friendly- create a desire to come and explore the many facets of your country. 3. The final product must be typed/word processed. 4. Your brochure should include appropriate pictures or graphics to enhance your presentation. 5. You cannot download all information found at a site. You should copy and paste pertinent information into a separate word file for your editing and final copy. This can be done by opening up a new Word document, giving it a name and then minimizing it while you go to the links. 6. Final print copy should be in your own creative words not those that you borrowed!
Now that you have a deeper understanding of your Latin America country, designed your travel brochure, and seen the other presentations, thing about the following questions and answer them individually on white lined paper. Your responses will be collected and added to your grades for the Latin America unit of study.
